iRESUS Health Brings Critical Care Services to Rural India
Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], May 20: iRESUS Health, a group of trained ICU doctors, is partnering with hospitals in rural India to establish fully-equipped intensive care units and provide affordable critical care services to patients. The initiative was founded by Dr. Pradeep Dv, an emergency medicine physician, and his co-founder, Deepak Dayalan, who identified the need for critical care services in rural areas where hospitals often lack skilled medical professionals to handle emergencies and complex cases.
Many towns and villages in rural India do not have hospitals capable of addressing difficult medical cases. Patients are often referred to medical colleges or higher centers located hundreds of kilometers away. iRESUS Health aims to change this by establishing high-tech intensive care units that can handle almost all patients who require immediate medical intervention. By doing so, the group hopes to reduce avoidable mortalities and increase health awareness in rural India.
iRESUS Health is also emphasizing the importance of the “First 60 minutes” concept, which refers to the critical time period immediately following an emergency. Dr. Pradeep Dayalan explains that immediate medical intervention within this time frame can determine the outcome of patients. The group is implementing a Tele-ICU module, where a team of consultants closely monitors every patient admitted to the ICU.
In addition to critical care services, iRESUS Health is planning to expand its offerings to include affordable surgical care services. The group aims to collaborate with hospitals across the country and provide highly sophisticated surgeries at half the cost of corporate hospitals. From Lap Cholecystectomy to Rhinoplasty, all surgeries will be completed at an affordable cost feasible to a common Indian. The initiative aims to revolutionize the healthcare industry and provide access to high-quality treatments at an affordable cost.
iRESUS Health plans to rise a pre-seed funding of $5M to expand its network and continue its mission of increasing critical capacity by 100 ICU beds by the end of 2023. With a team of trained critical care physicians, nurses, and paramedical staff working 24/7, iRESUS Health aims to become the most affordable and quality service provider in India. The group follows a standard protocol of treatments and has a quality control team involved to ensure the best care is given to patients from every background, says Miss Prachi Yadav, Head of Operations.
