Child Help Foundation Inaugurates 10 Baby Feeding Centres Across Bengaluru Metro Stations
Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], September 15: Child Help Foundation, a Pan India non-profit organization, Child Help Foundation (CHF), with the support of the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), has inaugurated 10 Baby Feeding Centres across 10 Bengaluru Metro stations. These thoughtfully designed spaces provide mothers with comfort, privacy, and a welcoming environment, ensuring that every mother travelling with her little one has a safe place to pause, feed, and care for her child.
Bengaluru is a metro city that never slows down, carrying thousands of commuters across the city every single day. Among them are countless mothers travelling with infants, who often have no dedicated space to stop, rest, or feed their babies comfortably and privately. The launch of Baby Feeding Centres across 10 metro stations is a thoughtful and much-needed initiative. These centres will provide lactating mothers with a safe, comfortable, and private space to feed and care for their little ones, making their daily journeys easier and more convenient.
Each centre has been thoughtfully designed with one purpose in mind: to provide mothers with a clean, safe, and private space where they can feed their babies comfortably, without feeling rushed, exposed, or out of place. These Baby Feeding Centres help ease that burden by providing a dedicated space designed around a mother’s comfort, dignity, and privacy, while ensuring the wellbeing of her child.
Speaking about the initiative, Mr. Jiji John, Executive Director of Child Help Foundation, said, “A Baby Feeding Centre may seem like a small space, but its impact goes far beyond its size. It gives a mother the privacy she needs at an important moment. It gives her dignity during a time that should never feel uncomfortable or inconvenient. And, most importantly, it offers a little comfort in the middle of a busy and tiring day.”
He further added, “I’ve seen mothers walk into these centres feeling anxious and unsure of where they can go, and walk out looking relieved, sometimes even with a smile. That simple transformation, however small it may seem, says everything about why this initiative matters. When a city creates space for its mothers, it is ultimately creating space for its future.”
This initiative reflects Child Help Foundation’s broader commitment to creating public spaces that are more responsive to the needs of mothers and children. As part of this initiative, Baby Feeding Centres have been established not only at metro stations but also at railway stations, hospitals, bus terminals, depots, temples, and police stations.

Child Help Foundation has also recently received a letter of appreciation from the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Shri Devendra Fadnavis Ji, commending the organisation’s work in Palghar, one of Maharashtra’s Aspirational Districts, for the welfare of children, women, tribal communities, and economically disadvantaged families. The letter, issued from Mantralaya, Mumbai, stands as a significant acknowledgement of CHF’s sustained efforts on the ground.
The Chief Minister acknowledged CHF’s initiatives across healthcare, education, WASH, women’s empowerment, child protection, and rural development, recognising their contribution to improving the lives of vulnerable communities in Palghar. He particularly appreciated CHF’s efforts in health awareness, educational infrastructure, menstrual hygiene, and child protection, describing them as meaningful steps towards inclusive growth.
